I am originally from Southeastern Connecticut and I received my
B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
My training methods are influenced by my backgrounds in Athletic Training as well as Massage Therapy. Naturally, I gravitated towards corrective exercise and obtained my CES through the National Academy of Sports Medicine(NASM).
With over 10 years of training
experience, I am confident in my approach that combines strength and conditioning, with a focus on posterior chain development.
I grew up playing soccer, basketball and baseball until the end of high school. Not until college did I develop a passion for weightlifting. Over a period of 3 years I grew from 180 lbs to 240 lbs, influenced by bodybuilding and powerlifting.
Once I started working with athletes, I began to understand the importance of proper movement patterns and injury prevention. This gave me a better understanding of how functional training can be utilized to boost overall performance and build a stronger foundation.
In my own training, as well as my clients, implementing consistent mobility work, multi-plane movements, plyometrics, and foundational strength exercises creates a healthier, injury free, well balanced, athletic physique.
